Yale University: Yalies: IvyQ needs you!

yaleuniversity:

This weekend, Yale will host the 4th annual IvyQ Conference - hundreds of queer students and allies from all over will descend on New Haven, and the conference organizers need YOU to help show them a proper Yale welcome!

If you’re able to host someone, kindly shoot a quick email to Hilary…

[Gay people are born and belong to every society in the world. They are all ages, all races, all faiths. They are doctors and teachers, farmers and bankers, soldiers and athletes. And whether we know it, or whether we acknowledge it, they are our family, our friends, and our neighbours. Being gay is not a western invention, it is a human reality.-Hillary Clinton]

A great article in the NYTimes featuring some students from The University of Pennsylvania. Penn was the first school to host IvyQ back in 2010.

IvyQ 2013

leilaxhafiz asked: Hi! I have been trying to find details on lodging accommodations for IvyQ weekend without luck. Will this be provided at all by Yale, or should attendants look into securing a hotel? Thanks, I can't wait!

Hi! All attendees will automatically be paired up with a Yale student to be hosted for the entire conference. Most Yale students live on campus and live in suites with common rooms (separate from private bedrooms) with futons and couches so you probably won’t have to worry about bringing a sleeping bag. When you register you also have the option to be paired up with someone of a specific gender identity if you so choose.

Hope this answers your question! Let us know if you have any other concerns and we’ll see you in February!

It’s almost time!

It’s almost time!

You’re going to need to sit down for this. Still picking my jaw off of the floor.

This is a music video invitation to Yale’s 2nd LGBT Alumni Reunion. Yes, the a cappella mashup includes “Over the Rainbow,” “Like a Prayer” and “Love on Top.” Yes, the entire thing was performed, directed and choreographed by current and recent Yale students. Yes, this is the best five minutes you’ll spend this weekend.
